Roles & Permissions
Roles & Permissions
To maintain a secure and organized production environment, Kemaan Studio uses a tiered permission system.
Understanding Roles
Every collaborator in a project is assigned one of three roles:
1. Owner
- Full Control: The creator of the project.
- Management: Can invite/remove collaborators and change their roles.
- Administrative: Can delete the project permanently.
- Production: Has full access to the Studio (Edit, Save, Export).
2. Editor
- Production: Can edit the arrangement, record audio, and adjust mixer settings in the Studio.
- Saving: Changes are saved to the shared project state.
- Collaboration: Can see other active users in real-time.
- Cannot: Delete the project or manage other people’s roles.
3. Viewer
- Read-Only: Can open the project in the Studio but cannot make or save changes.
- Feedback: Useful for sharing a “Work in Progress” with a client or mentor for review.
- Exporting: (Optional, if enabled by Owner) Can export a mixdown of the project.
Changing Roles
Owners can update a collaborator’s role at any time:
- Open the Members list or the Share menu for a project.
- Find the collaborator’s name.
- Use the dropdown menu next to their current role to select a new one.
- Changes take effect immediately, even if the user is currently active in the Studio.
Important
Make sure you trust the people you grant Editor permissions to, as they can modify your creative work.
