Roles & Permissions

To maintain a secure and organized production environment, Kemaan Studio uses a tiered permission system.

Understanding Roles

Every collaborator in a project is assigned one of three roles:

1. Owner

• Full Control: The creator of the project.
• Management: Can invite/remove collaborators and change their roles.
• Administrative: Can delete the project permanently.
• Production: Has full access to the Studio (Edit, Save, Export).

2. Editor

• Production: Can edit the arrangement, record audio, and adjust mixer settings in the Studio.
• Saving: Changes are saved to the shared project state.
• Collaboration: Can see other active users in real-time.
• Cannot: Delete the project or manage other people’s roles.

3. Viewer

• Read-Only: Can open the project in the Studio but cannot make or save changes.
• Feedback: Useful for sharing a “Work in Progress” with a client or mentor for review.
• Exporting: (Optional, if enabled by Owner) Can export a mixdown of the project.

Changing Roles

Owners can update a collaborator’s role at any time:

1. Open the Members list or the Share menu for a project.
2. Find the collaborator’s name.
3. Use the dropdown menu next to their current role to select a new one.
4. Changes take effect immediately, even if the user is currently active in the Studio.
